If you were at the District Conference you heard from Gemma Sisia, the remarkable young Australian woman who founded a free private school in Tanzania that now serves 1500 primary and secondary school children. If you missed out on the Conference you missed out on her story as well as lots of other great presentations. Several people have contacted me since the conference asking for more information about Gemma's school. Shop to Benefit the Horn of Africa! Who knew fundraising could be so much fun! Our friends in the Wichita area won't want to miss this opportunity to help the hungry by attending SHOP FOR SURVIVAL. Pink Saloon , Beau Monde Beauty Bar and Aspen Boutique are banding together and offering a benefit shopping experience Saturday, September 24 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at their stores at Douglas and Oliver in Wichita. Several other retailers in the area will be involved with a percentage of all sales going to Numana to alleviate hunger in the Horn of Africa. Schedule The day will kick off at 11 a. m. with "Kiddos & Cupcakes", TOMS children's shoe painting by TOMS artists, and Mini-manicures, Feathers and Tinsel by Beau Monde Beauty Bar. Throughout the day there will be auction items, tickets being sold for an iPad give-a-way, a food-packaging demonstration by Numana, and refreshments.
