Dear Rotarians, We are back in the regular place – the Welcome Center this week. Travis Griffin is going to let us know about the History of Rural Electricity. Rotarian of the Day is John Grange. Do you collect those glass insulators from the utility poles? They may be quite valuable now and never to be seen again, I imagine. After all we are all going to be using wireless technology in the future – right? Unless we get hacked… _____________________________________________________________________ Also, you are invited to the Grand Re-opening of the Student Union – some of you saw it last week, but the crews are working like crazy to get some final touches done – there will be music and I’m hoping food. 11:00 Tuesday Oh, and Kelsey and I went to Wichita to get some Rotary training on recruiting new members on Thursday. Fellow Rotarians, We continue our football theme this week with a visit from Tim Schaffner , Butler Community College Football Coach! I believe Todd Carter will serve as Rotarian of the Day. Butler is coming off some wins. I was at the last home game and was impressed. Perhaps I could send some plays in from the stands. I know coaches really appreciate those kinds of things from the fans. May be you could draw up some plays and give them to the coach at the meeting! Looking forward to seeing you there. Fellow Rotarians, We “kick off” September with a visit from Jason Nichols, Eldorado High School Football Coach! Larry McCully is the Rotarian of the Day. School is back in session and you can feel the energy in the air. There is just something about those cool nights and the seasonal changes that inspires.
