Steve's Football Challenge gets shared...

Dear Rotarians,

Our Rotary Club will be conducting our 4th annual K.U. and K-State Football Challenge this fall. The Football Challenge was initiated in 2007. The Jayhawks were victorious in 2007 and 2008. The Wildcats won last year and will be seeking to tie up the series at 2-2.

Here is how the Challenge works. Members sign up for their favorite team. The game will be played in Lawrence on Thursday, October 14th. Each member of the losing team will contribute $10.00 to the Rotary Foundation account of a member of the winning team. It has become a fun event for our club with bragging rights for another year going to the winning team and the proceeds going to the Rotary Foundation (Annual Programs Fund).

The sign-up sheet will be available at this week's Rotary meeting. If you can not attend this week, you can send me an email with the name of your favorite team. You do not have to be a K.U. or K-State alum in order to participate. My goal this year is to raise at least $150.00. This would require at least 15 Rotarians to sign up for each team. The Wildcats are so far undefeated but this will be their first road game of the year. So it should be an exciting, close game.

So pick your favorite team in the Sunflower Showdown and support your Rotary Foundation in the process.
